In early March 05, Dave and Jools made a quick visit to Uganda to undertake pre-project planning work.

During this visit, we visited 4 potential projects for the 2006 expedition. Below are a summary of each of the 4.

After two days of bouncing around Kamuli District in a bus, Dave and Jools had 2 hours to review the four sites, and to decide the educational fate of over 2000 children. We had many aspects to look at, including

1.    Safety and Security of the UK Team.
2.    Accessibility of the school.
3.    What the School currently had.
4.    What promises the School had for future progress.
5.    Current number of pupils, teaches and classes.
6.    Future numbers of pupils if the school was completed.
7.    Water Supply (drink ability and closeness).
8.    Ability to purchase food locally.
9.    Local support for the project.
10.    What could we do for the school.
11.    What could the local government do for the school.

After much hard decision making, we first narrowed the choice down to two, and then chose the final location. To find out the choice, and the project, you will need to apply, and come to the selection weekend!
