Welcome to the home page for the Scout Expedition to Kamuli District in August 2006. Please take a look around the site, especially at the What's New on our web.

What's it all about?
Lukotaime is a small village in the Kamuli district of Uganda. In 2000, a Scout explorer belt team walked into the village, and stayed a night, as part of their project work. When they left, one of the team members promised to return and help the school.

After two very successful expeditions to the school in August 2003 and August 2004, six classrooms have been built, along with a teachers accommodation block and toilets.

Dave and Jools had a very successful pre-expedition to Uganda in early March. During this visit, we looked at 4 potential projects for 2006. Take a look at them by looking here. We had the difficult choice of selecting just one project. This is St. Kiseege School.

Although the focus of the expedition is on the school, we couldn't go to Africa, without doing a Safari, and some adventurous activities.

Uganda Kamuli 2006 Expedition
Now that we have finished the Lukotaime School, we are now moving onto a new school in the Kamuli District, in August 2006. We are again planning to help the school by building new classrooms, and re-decorating the existing classroom. The 3 week expedition will include approximately

10 days Project work helping to build a school
3 days Safari
2 days adventurous activities (such as white water rafting, quad biking etc).

The team has now been selected, and consists of Scouts, Guides and Leaders from across the UK.
